To my colleagues and friends,
It is with great excitement that I announce to you that Kassi Longoria has been named MAYA Consulting’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective today, as I will be shifting my position to Executive Advisor.
I am so proud of the organization we have created and all we have accomplished during the last five years. In 2022, MAYA has doubled in size and revenue to include 21 team members. Our work is present in multiple states and our support has expanded to focus on achieving equitable results across multiple systems that surround children and their families.
Kassi joined MAYA in 2019 and has held multiple roles in the organization, including Principal Consultant, and most recently, Vice President of Early Childhood and Family Programs. She has championed MAYA’s purpose and has been instrumental in expanding MAYA’s support and impact. Kassi, a current Annie E. Casey Foundation Children and Family Fellow, is a systems thinker and is driven by her values of equity, inclusion, justice, and belonging. This mindset along with her exceptional executive leadership skills are needed to take MAYA to the next phase as an equity-driven, social-sector consulting firm that aims to support all children and youth to achieve a good life. Kassi has the intuition, energy, purpose-alignment, and strategic orientation to meet this moment of MAYA’s growth, and she was able to demonstrate her exceptional leadership as Acting CEO while I was on sabbatical this Summer.
Stepping into an Executive Advisor role will allow me to prioritize my strengths of building relationships and cultivating opportunities for MAYA to support districts, agencies, corporations, foundations, and nonprofits in Austin, in Texas, and nationwide. Kassi and I are eager to continue working with the MAYA team and communities we support to leverage each other’s strengths and new ideas for this next era. Together we will continue growing MAYA’s impact in our focus areas of high-quality learning environments, community and family wellbeing, and equitable systems and policies.
This step forward positions MAYA to live further into our purpose to support equity and excellence in community, so we all live a good life. We believe the most sustainable solutions to complex social challenges are created in community. And this change follows our purpose, creating space for new leadership from within the MAYA community, as well as continued growth for which MAYA is well positioned.
This is an exciting time for MAYA, and we look forward to what is to come under Kassi’s leadership. Kassi and the entire MAYA team are committed to supporting our clients to achieve greater equity and excellence, and transforming systems in community. Our clients’ and supporters’ belief in me and our team has been critical to our growth and evolution to this point.
