Sebastian Roman

Senior Director of Business & Revenue Operations

Sebastian Roman is the Director of Finance and Operations for MAYA Consulting. Prior to joining MAYA, he most recently worked as the Director of Operations for KIPP Nashville. At KIPP, Sebastian was part of the founding leadership team of an elementary and middle school in Antioch, TN serving almost 1,000 students in grades K-8. In this role he led and managed enrollment and recruitment, transportation, construction of a multi-million dollar school building, and establishing and leading the school’s operations and financial strategies as they grew into a K-8 program across both schools. He was also responsible for co-leading the school’s covid-19 response and strategy to support staff, students, and families in minimizing the impact of learning loss due to covid-19.

At MAYA, Sebastian focuses on the financial and operation systems of the organization and has been able to apply his knowledge and skills in his work with clients to support their organization’s financial, operational, and HR initiatives and goals. Sebastian attended St. Edward’s University, where he received both his bachelors and Master’s of Business Administration. After a service trip, Sebastian found himself questioning his own views of life and the lack of quality and equitable education in many parts of America and the world. This trip, his educational background in business, and his own privilege and experiences have fueled a mission to empower communities in providing students and educators the resources they need to choose their own future and reach their full potential regardless of the obstacles presented.

Sebastian also serves on the Board of Emerging Leaders for PENCIL, a non-profit organization that builds strategic partnerships between community groups and the needs of Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS), in Nashville, TN. When not at work, Sebastian enjoys traveling & learning new cultures across the world, exploring new restaurants and foods, places, games, or movies, and looking up random pages on Wikipedia to build on his trivia skills!
