Rachael Bergstrom is a Managing Director with MAYA overseeing the Responsive Schools Support Program and team at MAYA Consulting. In her 20 years of experience in education, Rachael has worked in many levels of the system; classroom, district, regional education service agency, and state agency. Her background in experiential education and statewide policy has fueled her passion for engaging and rigorous learning environments, centered on the unique assets and aspirations of individuals and communities.
Most recently, Rachael spent 10 years on the Student and School Support Team at the WI Department of Public Instruction. She helped school district leaders navigate complicated funding and policy contexts to support ambitious, student centered goals. Her passion for humanizing systems has been a constant driver of Rachael’s work. Rachael graduated from Winona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Leisure studies. She earned a Masters degree in Experiential Education from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
When not at work, Rachael loves to make messes with her kids, alter the food system through farming and obsess about emerging strategies that will help us all thrive
