Abby Parker is a Strategist with MAYA Consulting and brings over 15 years of experience in education through teaching, coaching, developing curriculum, and implementing programs in government, non-profit, and school-based environments.
Prior to joining MAYA, Abby supported school districts with their post-secondary goals through the Texas OnCourse Leader Fellows program at The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). Previous to THECB, Abby taught ninth grade and developed curriculum for college and career readiness classes for students in Houston. She has served as a teacher coach and managed a variety of educational programs in the non-profit and government sectors.
Abby earned her bachelor’s degree in justice from American University before joining the Teach For America Baltimore Corps to teach second grade. During that time, she earned her master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University.
Before settling in Houston, Abby lived in Colorado, New Hampshire, Washington, DC, and Sacramento, CA. In her free time, she loves going on adventures with her two kids and husband. Abby is excited to support students, staff, schools, & districts in Texas on the Post-secondary pathways team at MAYA.
