Vanessa is a Staff Consultant on the K-12 Network Team at MAYA Consulting where she primarily works with schools across the state of Texas with strategic planning and curriculum development and implementation. Vanessa started her career in education as a bilingual elementary teacher. She has been a classroom teacher, instructional coach, district support specialist, and a turnaround school principal.
Vanessa received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Sociology from University of Southern California and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University. Vanessa is originally from Compton, California and has made Texas her home for the past ten years where she enjoys cooking and spending quality time with her family and dogs.
